Controls and behaviour
The active-environment control selects an organisation-defined environment. Effective configuration shows each value with its origin. Variables provides the township-specific overrides.
Access and limits
An environment selection changes configuration resolution rather than deploying code to a remote host. An inherited value can be overridden. A secret remains sensitive even when its source is visible.
