Directory connection
A directory connection contains one provider's connection state, defaults, registrations and drift. It is the detail view used to reconcile that mirror.

Controls and behaviour
Test checks connectivity. Sync agents attempts reconciliation. Defaults select directory placement and naming. Disable stops further sync; deletion removes the configured connection where permitted.
Access and limits
Disabling sync does not necessarily delete objects already present in the provider. Some sign-in methods require provider consent and a federated credential. A synced registration alone does not prove that the agent can sign in.
